We are a remote music academy that provides music programs after school and in community centers. Imagine
a Music Academy unlike any other that will bring MUSIC to life in the
communities we serve, where participants will receive a quality
experience. Teachers and artists alike involved with us can actually earn a living
using their gifts and talent. This is the Children's Academy for Performing Arts or "CAPA" for short.
Music and Media Academy and Youth Orchestra
We offer several music programs, including the "Guitar Workshop" for elementary age through early teens and the "Music Club!" for preschoolers. In 2010 we will launch our community "Youth Orchestra" while adding other instruments and other media courses.

The Children's Academy for Performing Arts began as a thought. One night, on a spring evening in 2007, the question came about - "Why don't we have music programs where parents don't have to drive their child to another location, but the child can stay right at their school and learn how to play the violin or the guitar or another instrument? Why are music studios charging anywhere from $120 to $250 a month for kids to learn how to play an instrument for just a half hour lesson? What about parents who can't afford this, or don't have the extra time?" These thoughts plagued us. There has to be a better way. There has to be a more affordable way for all children to have an equal opportunity to learn to play an instrument.
This is where the idea for the Children's Academy for Performing Arts began. We currently operate in 5 locations, remotely in after school programs and preschools. Our programs cost parents less then $10 a week. We recently received approval from a school district in Southern California to begin the dialogue of launching a strings program at 4 elementary schools. We don't have a facility, so our overhead is extremely low. All our proceeds funnel back to our educators and our organization, only to make it better. Growth will happen humbly and slowly. We are currently self funded and will expand as our financial base increases. Please contact andy@capamusic.org for more information about our company, instructors and programs or for further questions on how to enroll your child at one of our supporting schools/community centers.
